What God is doing in Richardson and beyond. Healings, baptisms, people finding their way back to Jesus, told by the people it happened to.

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.”

Loss after loss, and Jesus with her in it

Jill lost her sister, then her twelve-year-old nephew, then her husband in 2022. Somewhere in the grief she stopped just knowing about Jesus and started knowing him, on the floor of her prayer closet and in a Bible she read from beginning to end.

Today she leads Breakthrough's kids ministry. The spring the kids spent learning the Fruit of the Spirit was her idea.

He's just with me. I just know he's with me. Jill Chaffin

Sciatica gone after a simple prayer

At the end of a Saturday gathering Josh invited anyone with chronic pain to come up for prayer. A woman with sciatica running all the way down her leg came forward. After a simple prayer, the pain left.

The next morning she texted him on her own: about a one out of ten, the best she'd felt in a long time.

A word of knowledge at the park

Josh was praying with two men he disciples, sitting outside a restaurant. As he asked the Holy Spirit to fill them, one of them felt warmth and strength come over him, and right away had a word for his friend about something from years before.

They prayed together. On his drive home, the friend, in Josh's words, "just got wrecked by the love of the Father."

A baptism at Breakthrough Church this summer

A baptism this summer

On Saturday, August 1, the church gathered to worship and celebrate a baptism, then ate Chipotle together in the Commons.

We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

Knee pain gone the same night

After praying in Josh's office to be filled with the Holy Spirit, a man got one assignment: lay hands on someone and pray before you go to bed.

That night he found someone with a bad knee and prayed. The pain left right away.

Breakthrough kids celebrating the Fruit of the Spirit

Kids who know the Fruit of the Spirit

All spring the kids learned the Fruit of the Spirit with Jill, a reading teacher who noticed the list falls into three sets of three: love, joy, peace; patience, kindness, goodness; faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. In May the whole church celebrated what God had planted in them.

Sharing a testimony at Breakthrough's one-year celebration

One year of Saturdays in Richardson

On September 12 the church marked one year of gathering in Richardson. People stood up and told what God had done in their lives that year, and afterward there was a food truck and waffles.
